I did have such an application for Windows - it was called TreeDBNotes and it provided me with exactly the functionalities I had been looking for - but since I moved over to a Linux/Unix based operating system, i had to find an alternative to TreeDBNotes. So, to get back to my story, there was a need for me to store all these small pieces of information so as not to lose them over the time. But have you ever tried to open a bookmarked page after a few months or maybe a year? There are many pages out there which disappear daily and are never to be seen again. A few of you may wonder, why I did not bookmark these pages. These can be small things you found months ago in the internet and over time the websites got closed or the pages do not exist anymore. And I am sure I am not the only one who has this problem. Sometimes it is hard for me to remember these details if I didn't need them in the past weeks, months or even years.

While you can password protect individual tabs, there doesn't seem to be an option for locking the software itself with a master password.įrom simple notes to details about accounts, you can organize it all with TreeDBNotes Pro. It will take a few minutes to study the interface's functions, after which you will see that TreeDBNotes Pro is very user friendly and the tools it provides will let you organize your personal information with great efficiency. The software may scare you at first, due to its complexity, but it is actually very easy to use. Each tab can be password protected separately from their properties window. TreeDBNotes Pro lets you decide which information is more important. When done, the information will be listed on the main area of the interface. You will have to click an Add button and type in the details of your contact, account, or task. Apart from the notes tree, which features a simple text editor, you will have the same options at your disposal when inserting new data in a tree.
The tree itself will be placed on the left side of the window, and the information can be inserted and modified on the right side, in a MS Office like editor.
A tree may contain contacts, passwords, tasks or simple notes. When creating a tree, a small window will appear, where you can insert a title, description and choose what sort of information you want to insert in it. It is also possible to enable toolbar buttons for these actions from the View menu. Each tree you create will be found under its own tab.
These can be created, sorted and edited on the interface, by making use of the options available in a context menu after right clicking a blank area under the top menus. You can organize different types of information in a tree structure, under separate navigation tabs. Compatibility will not be an issue if you are running Windows XP, Vista or Win 7 (32 or 64 bit) and due to the low hardware requirements, you can run it even on an older machine. The 10 Mb setup file may take an extra minute to download with a slower internet connection, but considering everything you can do with the software, the wait is worth it. It is easy to use and it will satisfy all your needs.Ī free version of the software is available and there is also a demo for the Pro version if you want to test it. This general purpose organizer features a very flexible interface with a wide range of functions. To make it easier, you can use TreeDBNotes Pro to manage all your contacts, notes, schedules and more. It will take less physical space and you can insert more information. Instead of using a pen and paper, it is more efficient to keep your notes in a digital format. If you had a separate notebook for every type of information worth writing down, the planet would have less trees and you would end up with less space in your drawers or shelves.
